Intel recently discovered a small number of Intel® NetportExpress™ 10/100 Print Servers (3-port), packed between September 16 and November 21, 2000, which may contain duplicate MAC addresses.
These print servers may respond inconsistently on the network when used in conjunction with some Intel® PRO/100 Management Adapters. For example, a print server may appear in Netport® Manager with a red X. Other symptoms, such as dropped packets, may not be visible without network trace software.
To confirm if your products are affected and eligible for return, check your product for the following information:
- Serial # 4568AB03613 719979-002. The highlighted portion of the serial number should range from 36013 to 48013
- The network address found on the bottom of the physical print server will not be the same as the Network address reported in the status page of the Netport® Manager utility.
- Product codes (these can be found on the packing material) matching the following:
