Intel® System Management Software
Navigation menu disappears after applying latest Microsoft* Windows* updates

This article applies to systems currently using Intel Active System Console from the Intel® Server Management Software 1.x package only.

Menu navigation may disappear from the Intel® Active System Console after downloading the latest Microsoft* Windows* updates and updating to Mircosoft* Internet Explorer* 7.  The Adobe* Flashplayer* version installed also affects the Intel® Active System Console.

As a workaround, please apply the following steps:

  1. Run uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean.
This removes Adobe* Flashplayer* version 9.0.115.0 (the "/clean" parameter is required to remove keys which prevent installation of previous Adobe* Flashplayer* versions.

  2. Run Flash* ActiveX* installer and Plugin Installer for version 9.0.47.0.
The Intel® Active System Console should now work correctly. For more information please visit http://www.adobe.com/* and search for How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control and Installation issues when switching between release and debugger versions during development and testing.
