What are the upgrade options for the Intel® System Management Software 2.x/3.x?

The included software package on the Intel® Boxed Server Boards contains the Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007* 90 day trial version. The trial version can be converted to a fully licensed version by applying a purchased key in the licensing wizard which is installed with SCE*.

Intel provides two options for fully licensed versions managing different number of nodes

Listed below are the upgrade options: (available with a nominal fee via your local distributors)

Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007* Small Network Edition

  • System management for up to 5 servers and 15 clients
  • Extensible design with management pack plug-ins that extend console capabilities
  • Upgradeable to Standard Edition using purchased CD key

Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007* Standard Edition

  • Full version of Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007
  • System management for up to 10 servers and 50 clients
  • Scalable to 30 servers and 500 clients
Note

Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007* requires Microsoft® Active Directory* service and only one copy of the Server may be installed in a network domain, during installation, the prerequisite checker will inform the user if another instance of Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007* has been detected.

If the Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007 is already installed, only the Intel® Server Management Pack and Agent is required to be installed.
