All steps listed below should be performed with a new Intel® Storage Server SSR212MC2. To update an existing system with one, or more of the software components, the order listed should be used.
SSR212MC2 BIOS, firmware, drivers and utilities can be found at the Software & drivers link.
Under DOS:
BIOS
- Reset BIOS to factory defaults after BIOS update
BMC
FRU/SDR using the SSR212MC2 specific update batch file
- See included readme file for instructions
RAID Controller firmware (Hardware RAID version (MC2R) only)
- See included readme for required steps
Under Operating system control:
Install StorView*
Enclosure Management Firmware
- Install from within StorView*. The Enclosure Management Firmware update can take up to 30 minutes, perhaps more to complete.
(If RMM2 installed) RMM2 firmware
- Install from RMM2 embedded web interface
The RMM2 firmware update must be run with the installation of the RMM2 module. Running the firmware enables the module to configure the system sensors to monitor and provide correct reporting.
