Unable to Completely Update the BIOS

When doing the update procedure for BIOS, BMC HSC & FRUSDR, if a step is missed - specifically doing the CMOS clear before the BIOS update, the system may be in an unusable state.

The symptom can be experienced as the BIOS update is unable to complete & stops at 75% on the process bar.

If you have encountered this scenario, please perform a BIOS recovery on your system:

Note: You will need to download the BIOS Recovery Tool off the support site. As of this writing, the utility can be found here.

  1. Power off your system
  2. Remove the power cords at the back of your system
  3. Remove the top cover and locate jumper block JP4 (it is located at the bottom of PCI SLOT 1 (A1) - see your Product Guide for information on the jumper block
  4. Read the instructions stated in the BIOS recovery disk on how to perform the recovery procedure.
