When doing the update procedure for BIOS, BMC HSC & FRUSDR, if a step is missed - specifically doing the CMOS clear before the BIOS update, the system may be in an unusable state.
The symptom can be experienced as the BIOS update is unable to complete & stops at 75% on the process bar.
If you have encountered this scenario, please perform a BIOS recovery on your system:
Note: You will need to download the BIOS Recovery Tool off the support site.
As of this writing, the utility can be found here.
- Power off your system
- Remove the power cords at the back of your system
- Remove the top cover and locate jumper block JP4 (it is located at the bottom of PCI SLOT 1 (A1) -
see your Product Guide for information on the jumper block
- Read the instructions stated in the BIOS recovery disk on how to perform the recovery procedure.
