The Intel® Entry Storage System SS4200-E does not currently support plug-and-play of external CD-ROM, DVD-ROM. USB 1.1 thumb drives whose read-only lock is on (locked). These devices cannot be mounted from the Intel® Entry Storage System SS4200-E operating system.
As a workaround, unlock the USB device, setting it to writable mode.
