There are a number of system passwords. Please see the list below and the lengths these passwords can be:
Administrator password:
The systems administrator password can be up to and including 24 characters.
Windows/Mac OS X user (CIFS) password:
The Windows/Mac OS X user (CIFS) password can be up to 24 characters long.
Recovery CD recovery password:
The recovery password must be 12-16 characters long.
Note: This applies to the Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E firmware version 1.2, password lengths in earlier releases may be shorter. Password lengths were increased in firmware version 1.2 for additional security measures.
