By default, the Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E uses local authentication mode. If your site uses Active Directory, you can use Active Directory authentication mode instead. The storage system will then import user and group lists from the Active Directory domain automatically making it easier to manage access to the system.
Since all user data and all shared folder assignments are deleted when you switch from one mode to another, it is recommended that you decide which mode you want to use at integration.
