Intel® Server RAID Controller SRCU31
Service or Driver fail during start up.

Symptom(s):

  • Error: "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details."
  • Error: Event ID 7026: "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i2oexec iopbus"
  • Error: Event ID 17: "Iop initialization failure. Drivers will Not Be Loaded for Some IOPs"

Cause:
Either the RAID controller has been removed or the RAID controller firmware was updated to 6.x from a pre-6.x version.

Solution:
Remove the OSM driver by uninstalling "RAID Device Drivers" using the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.

If the RAID controller firmware was upgraded to 6.x from a pre-6.x version, install the new driver using the SCSI Adapters applet in the Control Panel. It will also be necessary to create a new RAID volume, rewrite the physical configuration data on the drives, and mount the new volume using the Windows Disk Administrator. To rewrite the physical configuration data, go to the advanced setup in Intel Storage Console, go to the Configure Physical Devices menu, press F8, and press Y. Be aware that all data on the RAID volume(s) will be lost as part of the upgrade process.
