The National Semiconductor* PC87431 integrated management controller supports one anonymous user (null user name) with a settable password. The IPMI command to set the password is not supported.
Intel® Server Management v5.x uses password authentication when launching management modules. Modules include Platform Instrumentation Control (PIC), Direct Platform Control (DPC), Client System Setup Utility (CSSU) and Command Line Interface (CLI).
As each of the above modules is launched, the user is shown a dialog box requesting a password to complete the module connection to the managed server. By default the password is set to a "null" value and the module may be launch by pressing the Enter key. This server boards contain a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) ASIC.
