Symptom(s):
After installing two Intel® Xeon® processors the server system fails to operate. Resulting in a no-boot, no-video situation. Both processors are confirmed to be E0 stepping.
Cause:
Full support for features on E0 stepping processors were added to the BIOS core beginning with revision P05.
Solution:
Intel® Server Board SE7320SP2 and SE7525GP2 support Intel® Xeon® processors in the E0 stepping beginning with BIOS revision P05. Download the latest BIOS revision, must be revision P05 or higher.
To complete the BIOS update you will need to remove CPU#2 from the system. With a single E0 stepping processor installed, complete the BIOS update. Once the BIOS update has successfully completed, CPU#2 can be re-installed.
