Advanced Memory Configuration

The Intel® Server Board SSH4 supports the Advanced Memory Configuration implementation which consists of two features stated below. This feature is enabled starting with BIOS release 12.0 Build 93 or later. You must be using Intel® Server Management release 5.5.6 or later to monitor the advance memory configuration features.

(1) Single-Board Mirrored Memory
Single-Bord Mirrored Memory uses mirrored banks on a single memory board to provide a high level of memory redundancy. This feature provides protection against multi-bit errors without degrading the performance of the memory system. (see figure below).



(2) Online Spare Memory
Online Spare Memory uses an online spare bank to provide DIMM failover capabilities when a pre-defined threshold of single-bit correctable errors is reached. (see figure below)
