Serial ATA Mode Switching Utility No Longer Required

Symptom(s):
Serial ATA mode switching utility for enable RAID or Base mode on Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E.

Solution:

Serial ATA mode switching utility for this Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E is no longer required. Features have been added to the BIOS Setup Utility to easily and conveniently change the Serial ATA controller's mode.

To configure Serial ATA RAID Mode:

  1. Power-on or reset system
  2. Press F2 during POST to enter BIOS Setup Utility
  3. Select the "Advance" menu and "IDE Configuration" sub-menu
  4. Highlight "ATA Configuration"
  5. Choose "ENABLE SATA RAID" and press Enter
  6. Press F10 to save and exit
  7. During POST when "Adaptec* Host RAID Configuration Utility appears press Ctrl+A to enter and configure the Serial ATA RAID array

To configure Serial ATA Base Mode: (This is non-RAID mode)

  1. Power-on or reset system
  2. Press F2 during POST to enter BIOS Setup Utility
  3. Select the "Advance" menu and "IDE Configuration" sub-menu
  4. Highlight "ATA Configuration"
  5. Choose "CONFIG SATA ATA" and press Enter
  6. Press F10 to save and exit

WARNING:  Do not make changes to the ATA configuration if the hard drives already contain an operating system and/or data. Changing the ATA configuration will result in data loss. If changing the ATA Configuration is necessary, take necessary steps to backup your information prior to proceeding.
