Using the Correct Power Supply for this Server Board

Symptom(s):
Failure to use the proper power supply for this server board can result in system failure, inoperability, and possible damage to system components.

Solution:

Many 3rd party chassis manufacturers are shipped as Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor-ready supporting the additional +12 volt requirements. The chassis power supply is equipped with one 20-pin main power cable and one 4-pin +12 volt processor cable. The Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E is shipped with one main power and one +12 volt processor power connectors.

Can you use a power supply with one 20-pin main power connector and one 4-pin +12 volt processor power connectors with the Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E?

Yes. Connect the 20-pin main power cable from the power supply into the first 20 pins of the main power connector of the server board. Connect the 4-pin +12 volt processor cable to the first 4 pins of the +12 volt processor power connector.

Note:  Be sure to consider power requirements before using any power supply. The power supply should have the +3.3, +5, and +12 volt current capacity to support the server board, processor, memory, and all peripherals used in your server.

This applies to:
Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E
Intel® Entry Server System SR1325TP1-E
