| Operational States for the Physical Drive |
|
|
Solution:
Online (ONLN): The drive is online, is part of a configured logical drive, and is functioning normally.
Ready (READY): The drive is functioning normally but is not part of a configured logical drive and is not a hot spare. A drive to be added to an array must be in the Ready state.
Hot Spare (HOTSP): The drive is running as a hot spare drive. A HOTSP drive cannot be used for any other purpose.
Failed (FAILED): The drive is part of a configured logical drive but has failed. A physical drive is FAILED if any of the following conditions are true:
- Drive does not respond or does not process a command after maximum number of retries.
- Drive is in REBUILD state and rebuild fails.
- Drive is put in FAILED state by a user.
Rebuilding (REBUILD): The drive is being rebuilt with data from other array drives.
