The Intel® RAID SSD Cache Controller RCS25ZB040 has 256 GB flash capacity. The Intel® RAID SSD Cache Controller RCS25ZB040LX has 1 TB flash capacity. The flash capacity is the total memory for the installed Nytro Flash modules.
Of the total memory amount for these modules, about 25 percent is held in reserve as over-provisioned capacity to extend the usable life of the product. This reserved space is used when flash cells reach end of life. The actual flash/cache capacity is 200 GB and 800 GB, respectively.
Configuring two Nytro Flash modules as a RAID 1 reduces the reported flash/cache capacity as expected with a RAID 1 array. The reported flash/cache capacity for the Intel® RAID SSD Cache Controller RCS25ZB040LX 1 TB capacity controller in a RAID 1 configuration is about 370 GB.
