Users may find onboard NIC (Network Interface Card) driver version 15.1.1 may not get installed properly in Windows* Vista or Windows* 7 when UAC (User Access Control) is set as "Default". Problem may occur during the installation process of the NIC driver, scramble display and unexpected message may display as following:
This is a permissions issue with Windows* Vista and later operating systems. Permissions don't get elevated installing with PROSETDX.MSI, which is the file the batch file in the root directory points to. DXsetup gets the permissions elevated on Windows* Vista and later operating systems, but they don't get elevated if you launch the MSI without DXsetup.
The following workaround can be used to navigate around the issue.
- Users can browse to the \apps\prosetdx\<os version> directory in the NIC driver package and launch DxSetup.exe.
- Users can also refer to below picture to set Windows UAC (User Account Control) to “Never notify”, re-install the driver after a system reboot.
