Error when installing Intel® Memory Module AXXMINIDIMM512

When installing the Intel® Memory Module AXXMINIDIMM512 into an Intel® server system, you may see an error similar to

“Firmware is in fault mode”
“Error 0190H…”

You should check whether the minidimm was manufactured by Micron*. In this case, the error does not indicate that the DIMM itself is faulty. Earlier versions of the firmware for this midplane did not support the Micron part. A firmware update will resolve this issue. Please follow the firmware update instructions below.

How to identify whether you have a Micron* part:

Locate the barcode label on the minidimm. The part number is on the top left.

The affected part has a part number of MT9HTF6472PKY.

How to update the firmware on the active midplane 2

  4. Boot the server to efi, with the usb stick present

  6. Go to the folder where you extracted the package: cd <foldername>
