RAID level may change from 10 to 1E during expansion

When a four-drive RAID 10 storage pool is expanded, all virtual drives that were created at RAID level 10 within the storage pool will automatically migrate to RAID 1E, even if the number of drives added would create a storage pool configuration capable of supporting RAID level 10

New virtual drives can be created in the storage pool as RAID 10, if the drive configuration of the storage pool supports RAID 10.

This is by design. RAID 1E is similar to RAID 10, and the performance is equal. There should be no other consequences from this migration.

There are no current plans to change this behavior.
