Intel® Xeon® processors 5600 series
The server board has to be at BIOS 45 minimum to boot with Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series installed. Once booted, an upgrade to BIOS 48 or later must be done for the processor to run properly and the new features to become available.

Note

  1. ONLY supported on Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC and Intel® Workstation System SC5650SCWS.

  2. Supported on Intel® Server Board S5520HC/S5500HCV/S5520HCT, Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC, Intel® Server System SC5650HCBRP and Intel® Workstation System SC5650SCWS & S5520UR Family.

  3. Supported under the Intel® Server Board S5520UR and associated SKUs (SR1600UR, SR1625UR, SR2600UR and SR2625UR). When using this processor with a 1U system (SR16xxUR), use only Single or Dual Rank DIMMs due to thermal limitation.

  4. Thermal Design Power (also called Thermal Guideline): The maximum amount of heat a thermal solution must dissipate from the processor so the processor can run under normal conditions.

  5. See the technical white paper on Intel® Turbo Boost Technology with the low power Intel® Xeon® Processors.

  6. Support for these processors requires BIOS revision R0054 or later.

  7. The Intel® Server System SR2612UR only supports processors with a TDP of less than or equal to 95W.
