TA-921: AXXRSBBU4 Damage Results in Incorrect Battery Temperature Being Reported

Intel® RAID Smart Battery AXXRSBBU4 Thermistor Mechanical Damage Results in Incorrect Battery Temperature Being Reported.

The Intel® RAID Smart Battery AXXRSBBU4 is an optional accessory for the Intel® RAID Controller SRCSASRB and Intel® RAID Controller SRCSATAWB.

Intel has found that some AXXRSBBU4 units with specific date codes may experience an issue with a damaged thermistor. The thermistor damage results in extreme battery temperature values being reported which are outside of the operable temperature window, this temperature results in triggering the BBU overheating protection mechanism and prevents the battery from charging.
