How can i set up a hot-spare compute module?
Although there is no automated process, an unassigned Compute Module can be a "manual hot spare". Should one fail, you can easily switch virtual drives to an unused Compute Module.
Are the OS kernels aware of all processors, for licensing purposes?
As with any Intel® Server, the board does not mask or virtualize any of the processors itself.
