Cannot log in to CMM

The reset button on the CMM is intended for rebooting and does not reset to factory defaults.

If you have received a replacement midplane through warranty, need to change a forgotten IP address, reset to factory defaults, or reload corrupted firmware:

  • First, connect a straight-through serial cable to the CMM serial port, and set your terminal program (like Hyperterminal) to:

    • Baud rate: 115200
    • Data Bits: 8
    • Parity: None
    • Stop Bits: 1
    • Flow Control: None

  • Next, remove and reinsert the CMM. Press Enter during boot to bring up the EBF> prompt.

To disable DHCP and reset the IP address to default, type:

CMM EBF> set net ext dhcp off
CMM EBF> set net ext ip 192.168.150.150
CMM EBF> set net ext netmask 255.255.255.0
CMM EBF> set net ext gateway 192.168.150.1

To reset the admin password, type:

CMM EBF> set admin password [password]

Type "exit" to reboot the CMM.

If you see an error during the EBF boot similar to:

SD Card not present or failed to initialize
Unable to obtain flash device parameters

The CMM may need to be reset or formatted. Please contact Intel® Technical Support for more information regarding this error message.
