Symptom(s): Saved information for the MegaRAID Storage Manager Monitor is always lost using Raid Web Console 2 v1.19-00 for Windows*
Cause: This is a known issue wherein the MegaRAID Storage Manager Monitor gets back to its default settings. The reason being is when the user changes the settings and click On RWC2 > Tools > Configure > Monitor Configurator >Event Notification Configuration > File Menu > Send to Monitor, the configuration is saved to a file called “config-current.xml” overwriting the default settings (this file is different from a backup file that user can opt to do). However, the config-current.xml file attribute is set to “Read-only” hence the config-current.xml settings remain to its default losing the user-configured settings.
Solution:
This issue is planned to fix on next application released. For time being, these are possible scenarios to resolve this issue 1. Before changing the MegaRAID Storage Manager Monitor settings A. A user is advised to change the file attribute of config-current.xml by going to c:\Program Files\Raid Web Console 2\MegaMonitor\config-current.xml B. User can now start changing the MegaRAID Storage Manager Monitor setting based on his/her requirements 2. User has encountered the issue but has a backup *.xml file A. Follow the steps above from A to C B. On RWC2 > Tools > Configure > Monitor Configurator >Event Notification Configuration i. Click File Menu > Open ii. Browse to the backup file iii. Click File Menu > Send to Monitor Or user can follow these steps A. Go to c:\Program Files\Raid Web Console 2\MegaMonitor\config-current.xml B. Rename the file config-current.xml to config-current.old C. Copy the backup *.xml file on same folder then rename it with config-current.xml
