TA-846: Intermittent Issue with the DVD-ROM Drive

In limited cases, the DVD-ROM drive on the Intel®

Server Platforms SR4850HW4/M, SR6850HW4/M, SR4850HW4/S, and SR6850HW4/S does not show as a bootable device in BIOS, or as an available drive in the operating system, due to a voltage leak that causes the bridge board to improperly reset following a reboot.

Customers that power off their systems nightly or reboot their systems periodically face the highest potential to observe this issue.  A DC power cycle should allow the DVD-ROM to be seen on the next boot.  Additional power cycles may be needed to workaround the issue in some circumstances.
