Base System Device error in Device Manager

If Microsoft Windows* Device Manager shows Base System Device with an exclamation mark on a yellow question mark:

download the latest Intel® On Board Network Driver for Microsoft Windows, unzip the file, and run:

\apps\PROSETDX\<OS version>\DxSetup.EXE

If you still have the error after rebooting, please contact Intel technical support.

Note
This error is caused by one of the components of Intel® I/O Acceleration Technology failing to install. You may also install the driver without installing any PROSET software by running

\apps\setup\SETUPBD<OS version>\SetupBD.EXE
