Symptom(s):
"DMI 2.0 Instrumentation loader for Windows NT* encountered a problem and needed to close" error is encountered after installation of Intel® Server Management in Windows* Server 2003 operating system.
Cause:
This problem has been determined to be the Network Controller's instrumentation that is loaded by Intel® Server Management. This is a known issue with how Intel Server Management works with Windows* Server 2003.
Solution:
Under Administrative Tools within Control Panel you will need to open Services. Using the Windows* Services GUI, set the Intel Client Instrumentation to either Manual or Disabled. The purpose is to prevent this service from automatically starting each time the operating system loads.
Future revisions of Intel® Server Management will configure the Intel Client Instrumentation located in Windows Services to Manual by default.
This only effects Windows Server 2003 users. For Windows 2000 Server users, the Intel Client Instrumentation service can be set to automatically start each time the operating system loads.
