IntelŪ Entry Server Board S875WP1-E
Important: PentiumŪ 4 processor with 1MB of L2 cache (90nm Mfg Technology)

Intel® Entry Server Board S875WP1-E supports the new Pentium® 4 processor with 1MB of L2 cache manufactured using the 90nm manufacturing technology. There are some special requirements that must be met before using these new processors.

WARNING: System will still operate with the processor installed, and are using the incorrect voltage ID setting. Failure to make the changes listed below can result in risk of damage to the processor and/or board.

Requirements: #1 (Preferred)

  • Requires board PBA revision of -304 or higher.
  • Requires BIOS Revision P12 or higher.

Requirements: #2 (Only if you do not have BIOS Revision P12)

  • Requires board PBA revision of -304 or higher.
  • Requires BIOS Revision P08 or higher.
  • Require special settings1 in BIOS Setup Utility (See Below).

BIOS Setup Utility setting requirements:
(Not required if BIOS Revision P12 is already installed on your server board)

Intel® Entry Server Board S875WP1-E supports the new Pentium® 4 processor with 1MB of L2 cache manufactured using the 90nm manufacturing technology if the VID options are configured correctly in the BIOS Setup Utility. 

Follow instructions listed below. 

Instructions:

  1. Turn off Server
  2. Disconnect from power source
  3. Change the jumper at location J8J2 (BIOS config jumper) to configuration mode
  4. Reconnect power
  5. Power server board, and enter BIOS Setup Utility
  6. Enable Max CPUID value limit.
  7. Enable Default VID & Ratio.
  8. Press F10 to save changes and exit. 
  9. Power off server
  10. Disconnect from power source
  11. Change the jumper at location J8J2 (BIOS config jumper) to Normal
  12. Reconnect power
1Note Setting changes are required in BIOS Setup Utility. Failure to make changes can result the in risk of damage to processor and/or board.
