What are the configuration jumpers?

  Jumper Name Jumper Purpose

A

Serial Port Configuration (J9A1)

If pins 1-2 are jumpered, the DCD to DTR mode is enabled. The default mode is 3-4, which operates in the DSR to DTR mode.

B

BMC Force Update (J1H2)

If pins 2-3 are jumpered, the integrated BMC force update mode is enabled. For normal operation, jumpers 1-2 are jumpered. (default setting)

C

BIOS Default (J1E7)

If pins 2-3 are jumpered, the BIOS settings are cleared on the next reset. These pins should be jumpered on 1-2 for normal operation. (default setting)

D

Password Clear (J1E8)

If pins 2-3 are jumpered, administrator and user password are cleared within five to 10 seconds after the system is powered on. These pins should be jumpered on 1-2 for normal system operation. (default setting)

E

BIOS Recovery (J1D4) If pins 2-3 are jumpered, the system can only boot from EFI-bootable recovery media with the recovery BIOS image. The main system BIOS will not boot. These pins should be jumpered on 1-2 for normal operation. (default setting)
