Intel® Server Board S5000VCL
Full Length Adapters May Not be Supported on the Processor/Memory Side of Riser

Due to system design restrictions, full length adapters may interfere with the second processor heatsink on the processor/memory side of the riser assembly.

The Intel® Server Systems SR1530CL, SR1530HCL, and SR1530HCLS are built on the Compact Electronics Bay (CEB) / Thin Electronics Bay (TEB) Specifications. CEB-compliant baseboards allow for a maximum size of 305mm x 267mm [12” X 10.5”], though smaller sizes are possible. This makes for possible space conflicts with system components.

The specifications designate a "Card Side" and a "Core Side" of the riser assembly. The Core Side contains the memory and processor locations. This is the low-profile side of the riser assembly.

Due to the location of the riser assembly and second processor (see image below), full length low-profile adapters may interfere with the second processor heatsink.

As shown in the image above, the distance from the face that the PCI bracket mates to and heatsink is 159.719mm. Take into account some clearance required and the maximum length an adapter you can install is approximately 155mm.
