IntelŽ Server Board S5000PAL
Unexpected sense errors on IntelŽ Server System SR2500ALLX with SROMBSAS18E

When operating an Intel® Server System SR2500ALLX or an Intel® Server Board S5000PAL with the Intel® ROMB card SROMBSAS18E, the following error message can at times be seen in the event log of the Intel® RAID Web Console 2 in a Microsoft* Windows* operating system:

Controller ID:  0   Unexpected sense:   PD
    =   :14,   CDB   =    0x12  0x01  0x00  0x00  0xff  0x00     ,   Sense   =    0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00

These Unexpected Sense errors are harmless errors, where the Windows* operating system is making inquiries of the backplane that it cannot respond to.  These errors can safely be ignored if all the sense data consists of zeros (0s) and do not affect the performance of the RAID array.

Intel will fix this error in a future firmware release.
