Jumper Settings
| Function |
Pins |
What It Does At System Reset |
| Host Bus In-order Queue |
13-14, Max |
Host in-order queue depth is set at maximum |
| 14-15, Min |
Host in-order queue depth is set at 1 (used for debugging) |
| Chassis Intrusion Detection |
9-10, Enable |
Switch installed on chassis indicates when cover has been removed |
| 10-11, Disable |
Chassis intrusion switch is bypassed |
| FRB Enable |
5-6, Enable |
FRB operation is enabled (system boots from processor 1 if processor 0 fails) |
| 6-7, Disable |
FRB is disabled |
| Clock Enable |
1-2, Protect |
Processor speed configuration is protected |
| 2-3, Enable |
Processor speed is configurable through system BIOS |
| Boot Block Write Protect |
13-14, Protect |
BIOS boot block is write-protected |
| 14-15, Erase/Program |
BIOS boot block is erasable and programmable.
Caution: Should be used only by the Intel factory. Programming the boot block incorrectly will prevent the system from booting. |
| Recovery Boot |
9-10, Normal |
System attempts to boot using the BIOS stored in flash memory |
| 10-11, Recovery |
BIOS attempts a recovery boot, loading BIOS code from a floppy diskette into the flash device. This is typically used when the BIOS code has been corrupted. |
| Password Clear |
5-6, Protect |
Maintains the current system password |
| 6-7, Erase |
Clears the password |
| CMOS Clear |
1-2, Protect |
Preserves the contents of NVRAM |
| 2-3, Erase |
Replaces the contents of NVRAM with the manufacturing default settings |

Changing the Processor Speed
Default jumper settings are correct for most installations.
To set your processor speed, move the jumper labeled CLK EN to position 2-3 and enter the system BIOS setup at bootup. The processor speed on the initial BIOS screen will be set to a default of 266 MHz. Change the speed to match the speed of your boxed processor(s) and exit the BIOS setup being sure to save the settings when prompted.
Lastly, you should place the CLK EN jumper back to position 1-2 (default). This ensures that the processor speed is not reconfigured by a user while in the BIOS Setup utility. The chassis intrusion jumper should be moved to disable if the R440LX server board is going to be used in a chassis that doesn't have a chassis intrusion sensor.
