The boards supported in the Intel Server Chassis SC5300LX do not have the correct sensors (mBMC) to properly increase remaining fan speeds in the chassis to the correct level in the event of a fan failure. Although the fans will increase RPM by 10% this may not be enough to adequately cool the system in some environments.
The Intel Management Module has the necessary sensor control to increase the Intel Server Chassis SC5300 fan's RPM in the event of a fan failure to the correct levels.
