Some Intel Boxed Desktop boards based on the Intel® 915P/915G Express Chipset shipped with the incorrect Platform Compatibility Guide label. The PCG label is the holographic label located in the upper left corner of the box. All Intel Boxed Desktop boards based on the Intel® 915P/915G Express Chipset support PCG "04B or 04A", the incorrect label only lists PCG "04A".
The issue will be corrected in August 2004.
The PCG is intended to clearly identify compatibility between the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor in the LGA775 package, and the Intel Desktop Board.
The following Intel® Desktop Boards are affected:
- Intel® Desktop Board D915PSY
- Intel® Desktop Board D915PGN
- Intel® Desktop Board D915PCY
- Intel® Desktop Board D915PCM
- Intel® Desktop Board D915GUX
- Intel® Desktop Board D915GEV
- Intel® Desktop Board D915GAV
- Intel® Desktop Board D915GAG
The correct label states "04B or 04A Product Compatibility Guide"
The incorrect label states "04A Product Compatibility Guide"
This issue does not affect product integration. All previously shipped Intel Boxed Desktop based on the Intel® 915P/915G Express Chipset are fully compatible with all currently shipping Intel Pentium 4 Processors in the LGA775 package as of July 20, 2004.
