PCI Add-in Devices Not Detected on PCI Slots 2-6 (D845WN) or 2-3 (D845HV)

Moved unused PCI slot clock disabling to occur later in POST

BIOS revision P04 had pre-maturely disabled the PCI clocks during system initialization to PCI slots 2 - 6 (D845WN) or slots 2 - 3 (D845HV). PCI clocks to PCI slots are disabled when no devices have been detected to reduce board emissions, however on BIOS P04, the PCI clocks were pre-maturely disabled before certain devices were able to be identified. This is not expected to happen except when using slow initialization PCI add-in cards.

This has been fixed in all future BIOS revisions P05 or higher:

  • Intel® Desktop Board D845WN
  • Intel® Desktop Board D845HV

Note: PCI slot 1 clock is never disabled, regardless of whether or not the slot is populated with a device.

This applies to:
Intel® Desktop Board D845HV
Intel® Desktop Board D845WN
