For this Multi-Stream Transport (daisy-chained) configurations, all displays and cables must support the DisplayPort 1.2 specification. Daisy-chaining describes the ability to connect multiple monitors using a single connection between each one.

In this configuration, the two displays that you connect to the mini DisplayPort ports must be native DisplayPort-capable. Adapters that change DisplayPort to HDMI or DVI will not work. It is also best that the first display be HDMI without any adapters.
