You can find your desktop board model and serial number by:
Visual inspection
- Look at the box label.
Boxed Intel® Desktop Boards indicate the board model inside.
Desktop board models usually start with the letter "D".
For example: Model = DP67BG; AA number = G104591-302; Serial Number = BQBG050000QF
- Look at the board itself.
Several small barcode labels can be found on the Intel® Desktop Board. One of these labels shows the board model. This usually starts with the letter "D" as shown in the image below:
Another label shows the AA number and the serial number.

Using the BIOS
This method is recommended for boards that are assembled and in working condition.
Follow these steps:
- On boot up, press the F2 key to enter BIOS Setup.
- When the BIOS screen appears, go to the Main menu.
- Select System Identification Information.

Using the BIOS string
This method is recommended for older model boards that are assembled and in working condition.
When you power on a computer with an Intel® Desktop Board, the BIOS identification string is near the top left corner of the screen. If your computer displays the Intel® logo screen during system boot, you can bypass this screen by pressing the "Esc" key. This action allows the display of the BIOS code.
Recent desktop boards manufactured by Intel use an Intel/AMI (American Megatrends) BIOS core. When another manufacturing company name displays in the BIOS area, contact that manufacturer for support questions.
Intel BIOS for desktop boards
Recent Intel Desktop Boards use Intel/AMI BIOS patterns similar to:
MV85010A.86A.0011.P05
or
EV91510A.86A.0209
The characters before the first period indicate the desktop board in your computer. In the examples above, the "MV85010A" identifies the Intel® Desktop Board D850MV and the "EV91510A" identifies the Intel® Desktop Board D915GEV.

The first two sections of the BIOS code must exactly match the BIOS identifier codes for standard Intel® desktop boards. In this example, the "MV85010A" identifies the desktop board type. The "86A" indicates it is a standard Intel version (86B, 86C, or 86E are also used on some older boards). If the first two sections do not match, your desktop board was manufactured for a specific OEM. You can contact that manufacturer for help with your board. | |
Intel BIOS codes for older Desktop Boards
Older Intel Desktop Boards used a BIOS pattern that looks like this:
1.00.12.CS1
The characters "CS1" identify the Intel desktop boards in your computer. In this example, the "CS1" identifies a standard VS440FX desktop board.
