For Boards Without Serial Ports
Intel® Desktop Boards that do not have a built-in serial port (but may have an onboard serial header) can be upgraded for serial functionality with either of the following:
- Back panel serial port brackets that connect to the onboard serial header
- PCI-based add-in card
Shop Intel does not offer back panel serial port brackets or serial port add-in cards. You can purchase these types of devices at computer retail stores.
