The Intel® Desktop Board D850EMV2 supports only PC800-40 or PC1066-32P compliant RDRAM when operating at 533 MHz system bus speeds.
Main Memory
The desktop boards have four 2.5 V memory module sockets that support RIMMs containing Direct Rambus* DRAM (RDRAM) devices.
The desktop boards with AA# -60x or higher (order code D850EMVR) support the following memory features:
D850EMVR sku
- Maximum of 24 PC1066 RDRAM devices per channel (maximum 1.5 GB PC1066 onboard capacity utilizing 256/288 Mbit technology)
- Support for PC1066-32P compliant RDRAM with 533 MHz front side bus (FSB) operation
All D850EMV2 boards support the following memory features:
- Maximum of 32 PC800 RDRAM devices per channel (maximum 2 GB PC800 onboard capacity utilizing 128/144 Mbit or 256/288 Mbit technology)
- Single or double-sided RIMM modules
- Support for PC800-40 compliant RDRAM with 533 MHz FSB operation
- Support for PC800-40 and PC800-45 compliant RDRAM with 400 MHz FSB operation
- Serial Presence Detect (SPD) memory only
- ECC and non-ECC support
PC1066 RDRAM* memory is offered in different specifications. PC1066-32P is the only type that has been validated and other types are not recommended.
PC800 RDRAM* memory is offered in two different specifications, which are PC800-40 and PC800-45. Both of which run at the same frequency and have identical bandwidth, but each have a different internal timing.
The Intel Desktop Board D850EMV2 has two RDRAM* memory channels. You must install memory in pairs, matching size, speed, and internal timing. If only two RIMM* memory modules are installed, one RIMM* memory module and continuity RIMM* one must be installed in each channel.
