You'll find these basic SNMP commands as buttons in Network Manager dialog boxes. Clicking the button executes the command.
Next
Next (or GetNext) is an SNMP command that updates all the values you are viewing with the values for the next object in the MIB table. For example, if you do not know an object ID, click Next until the required object is displayed.
- From the MIB table view, click Edit.
- Click Next.
Set
Set is an SNMP command that changes a variable value in the MIB table. If you want to change a variable, you must click Set to change it in the MIB table.
- From the MIB table view, click Edit.
- Click the cursor in a field and change its value.
- Click Set.
Get
Get is an SNMP command that retrieves the value of a variable in a MIB table. Use Get when;
- You change a value and decide to keep the previous value before you click Set
- You type a new the object ID or index number but haven't Set them, and then want to see the actual value present before you typed the data in the field.
- From the MIB table view, click Edit.
- Click the cursor in the field whose value you want to retrieve.
- Click Get.
The retrieved value is displayed in the selected field.
