Issue Description:
You may encounter the following error message when trying to install the microscope's software:
"Setup has detected that your QX3™ Microscope is currently plugged into a USB port. You must unplug your QX3™ Microscope from your computer before continuing the installation."
Resolution:
If you are experiencing this error, perform these steps:
- If you are using Microsoft Windows* 2000 or XP, verify that you are logged in using a Computer Administrator account.
- Verify that your microscope is not physically plugged into your computer or via a USB hub.
- If the microscope is physically connected to your computer, do the following:
- Unplug the microscope from the computer or USB hub.
- Run the microscope's software installation program again.
If the microscope is not physically connected to the computer and you are seeing this error message, do the following:
- Download ONE of the following files that is appropriate for your Windows version:
- UNPLUGGEDM.REG for Microsoft Windows* 98, 98SE, or ME
- UNPLUGGED.REG for Microsoft Windows* 2000 or XP
- Double-click on the downloaded file to run it.
- Click the Yes button when prompted whether you want to add the information in this file into the Registry.
- Click the OK button when informed that the information in this file has been successfully entered into the Registry.
- Run the microscope's software installation program again.
