Intel® Play™ QX3™ Computer Microscope
Error When Installing Software on Microsoft Windows* 2000 or XP*

Issue Description:
You may encounter the following error message when trying to install the microscope's software:

"Setup has detected that your QX3™ Microscope is currently plugged into a USB port. You must unplug your QX3™ Microscope from your computer before continuing the installation."
Resolution:
If you are experiencing this error, perform these steps:
  1. If you are using Microsoft Windows* 2000 or XP, verify that you are logged in using a Computer Administrator account.

  2. Verify that your microscope is not physically plugged into your computer or via a USB hub.

  3. If the microscope is physically connected to your computer, do the following:
    1. Unplug the microscope from the computer or USB hub.
    2. Run the microscope's software installation program again.

  4. If the microscope is not physically connected to the computer and you are seeing this error message, do the following:
    1. Download ONE of the following files that is appropriate for your Windows version:
      1. UNPLUGGEDM.REG for Microsoft Windows* 98, 98SE, or ME
      2. UNPLUGGED.REG for Microsoft Windows* 2000 or XP
    2. Double-click on the downloaded file to run it.
    3. Click the Yes button when prompted whether you want to add the information in this file into the Registry.
    4. Click the OK button when informed that the information in this file has been successfully entered into the Registry.
    5. Run the microscope's software installation program again.
