The backup applications that have been used with the Storage Station are:
- Veritas (Seagate) Backup Exec for Windows NT* workstation v7.2 rev. 1223 (Client version)
- Veritas (Seagate) Backup Exec for Windows* 95 v2.0 (Client version)
- Computer Associates ArcServe* 6.5 (Build 620)
- Native Microsoft Windows* 95/98 backup
System Backup Limitations
The limitations of each product include:
- All files residing on the InBusiness™ Storage Station must be closed prior to system backup or restores. Open file backup and restore is not supported.
- Open Database or special backup agents are not supported for the InBusiness Storage Station.
Backup user set-up
Each product requires:
- A user created on the Storage Station that has R/W access at the minimum point of the file directory structure you want backed up. Typically this would be a share at the root of the volume(s).
- You can backup and restore the Storage Station system configuration file, config.dat. using the Storage Station Tools -> Backup and Restore tab. Note: you must restore the config.dat file AFTER you restore the data.
