Intel® InBusiness™ eMail Station
Operational Methods

The Intel® InBusiness™ eMail Station is designed to be compatible with most Internet Service Provider (ISP) mail services and Internet protocols used to transport and route mail. It simplifies the rather tedious job of configuring an email server while it works in conjunction with your local ISP.

In order to accomplish this, Intel designed the eMail Station with a variety of modes in which it can operate. Each of these modes are configurations that utilize the standard email protocols. They require both the end user and the ISP to work together to insure successful installation and operation. By providing the necessary information to the customer and attempting to simplify the installation process, it transforms the email experience into a comfortable, and less intimidating process.

The email station supports 2 common email protocols, which are typically referred to as Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Post Office Protocol (POP3) All email is sent using the SMTP protocol, but can be retrieved with either POP3 or SMTP. The email station will allow you to choose the retrieval method that best suits your needs. For more information on the functionality of the SMTP and POP3 protocols please refer to your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more information. They will be able to assist you in configuring your new email services and your email station.
