Solutions
Install the latest graphics driver from your computer manufacturer. Intel provides a generic version of your driver. Your computer manufacturer may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes. Please contact your computer manufacturer for the latest system specific updates and technical support information.
Install the latest generic version of the Intel graphics driver. If you continue to see the error(s), try the generic driver for your Intel graphics controller or chipset. To download and install the Intel generic driver, complete the following steps:
- Identify your Intel graphics controller or chipset.
You need this information to locate the right driver for your computer. Intel downloads are organized by the graphics controller or chipset. For help with identification, see 'Identifying your graphics controller.'
- Download the generic graphics driver from the Intel Download Center.
Select the appropriate link below that closely matches the name of your Intel graphics controller or chipset:
- Install the generic graphics driver.
In most cases, double-clicking on the downloaded driver (with EXE file extension) starts the driver installation. See the driver's ReadMe file for more details.

Additional troubleshooting If you continue to see the issue after you updated the graphics driver, verify the following steps to further isolate the issue:
- Does the issue occur frequently or is it a random issue?
If the issue always occurs when the system is performing a certain operation, such as running a particular application or game, check with the software vendor or the Intel® Graphics Gaming Guide to see if there are any patches, fixes, special device settings, service packs, product updates or other such work-arounds available.
- When was the last time the system worked without errors? What changes were made since this time, such as driver updates, adding hardware, or installing software?
Try removing the changes (uninstall hardware or software recently added or roll back drivers to the previous version) to see if the issues go away.
- Do you have the latest system BIOS for your computer?
Check with the computer manufacturer, motherboard manufacturer, or computer vendor to see if there is a system BIOS update available. Newer graphics drivers rely on current system BIOS updates.
- Does the issue happen when your monitor is set to a particular setting?
Try to change your video resolution settings back to a standard refresh rate and color depth to see if the issues go away.
