Use the Intel® Chipset Identification Utility to identify your Intel® Chipset. The Intel® Chipset Identification Utility is a downloadable tool used to determine which Intel Chipset is being used by your system. You will need to right click > Run as Administrator during install.

Intel® Chipset Identification Utility gives a general idea of your chipset and directs you to the appropriate support content. It is not designed to be a chipset verification utility and Intel does not guarantee it to be free from defects or errata.
This utility does not identify Intel® Processors. To identify the type of Intel Processor you have, such as the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor or Intel® Celeron® Processor, download the Intel® Processor Identification Utility.
Using Device Manager:
Complete the following steps to identify the chipset using Windows* Device Manager.Open Device Manager using one of the following options:
- Windows 8*:
Open the Side Panel > Control Panel > Device Manager
- Windows 7*:
Click Start > Control Panel > Device Manager
- Windows Vista*:
Click Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager
- Windows XP*:
Click Start > Control Panel > System. Select the Hardware tab and Device Manager.
Expand the System Devices entry and look for the chipset name similar to the following: "Intel 955X Memory Controller Hub - 2774". In this example, the chipset is an Intel® 955X Express Chipset.
Using DxDiag:
- Start > Run > dxdiag
- Look under the 'Display' tab for 'Chip Type'
