To troubleshoot this problem, try each of the following suggestions in the order listed below:
Check with your computer manufacturer whether your computer does support Blu-ray Disc playback. This is especially important if the computer did not originally ship with a Blu-ray Disc drive and the drive was later added.
If your computer manufacturer has confirmed that your computer supports Blu-ray Disc playback, then check whether your computer has the latest version of the system BIOS, graphics driver, and media player. See How can I ensure the best possible media playback experience? below.
Are you using the Microsoft Windows Vista*, Windows 7*, or Windows 8* operating system? See On which operating systems is Blu-ray Disc playback supported with the Intel® HD Graphics? below.
Check if the problem is seen with a different Blu-ray Disc title.
Check if the Intel® Management Engine driver is installed. See How do I verify that the Intel® Management Engine driver is installed on my computer? below.
It is important to ensure you are using the latest versions of the media player application, system BIOS, and the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator driver.
Latest version of the player application It is recommended that you use a version of the player from your computer manufacturer. In addition, Intel has worked with key media application vendors to optimize media playback. Key vendors include ArcSoft*, sMedio*, and CyberLink*.
Latest System BIOS for your computer or motherboard Visit your computer or motherboard manufacturer’s Web site to check for the latest BIOS.
If you have an Intel® Desktop Board, you can get the latest BIOS from the Intel Download Center.
Latest Intel® Management Engine interface driver for your computer or motherboard
Visit your computer or motherboard manufacturer’s Web site to check whether an Intel® Management Engine driver is available for your computer. Not all computer or motherboard manufacturers provide this driver. Check with your manufacturer if this driver is available for your specific computer or motherboard model.
If you have an Intel® Desktop Board, check the Intel Download Center if a management engine driver is available for your board.
Intel does not provide generic versions of the Intel® Management Engine interface driver. You must use a driver that has been validated by your computer or motherboard manufacturer for your specific computer or motherboard model.
Latest Intel® HD Graphics driver from your computer or motherboard manufacturer
Intel makes generic versions of the graphics drivers available but it is recommended to use the latest drivers that were validated by your computer or motherboard manufacturer. These drivers can usually be downloaded from your computer or motherboard manufacturer's Web site.
If you have an Intel® Desktop Board, the latest driver that has been validated with your board can be downloaded from the Intel Download Center.

With the Intel® HD Graphics, Blu-ray Disc playback is only supported with the Windows Vista* , Windows 7*, and Windows 8* operating systems. Some media features required for Blu-ray disc playback, including content protection, are only available in the Intel graphics driver for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Intel graphics drivers on the Windows XP* operating system still support playback of Standard/High Definition (SD/HD) video clips, DVD, and other sources of video.
To check if the management engine driver is installed, follow these steps:
Open Windows Device Manager.
Click Start on the Windows taskbar.
Right-click on My Computer.
Click Manage.
Click Device Manager listed on the left pane. The Device Manager will appear in the right pane.
Scroll down and click on the + icon that appears in front of System devices to expand this section.
Scroll down and look for the entry, Intel® Management Engine Interface. If this entry is listed, the management engine driver is installed on your computer. If this entry is not listed, the management engine driver is not installed and you should check with your computer or motherboard manufacturer if this driver is available for your computer or motherboard. Not all computer or motherboard manufacturers provide this driver.
If you have an Intel® Desktop Board, check the Intel Download Center if a management engine driver is available for your board.
