How to identify your graphics/video driver version

Use one of the methods below to check your computer's graphics driver version number. Once the version number has been determined, the Graphics Driver Version Chart can be used to determine the Production Version (PV), such as PV 6.6.

How to check the Intel® Graphics Driver tab (Windows* 95, 98, Me, 2000, or XP):

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click the Advanced button.
  4. Click the Intel® Graphics Technology or Intel® Extreme Graphics tab. If you do not see this tab, see Note below.
    The graphics driver version number will be listed below the graphics controller name. For example: 6.13.01.3004

How to check the Intel® Graphics Driver Tab (Windows NT* 4.0):

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Properties.
  2. Click the Intel® Graphics Technology or Intel® Extreme Graphics tab. If you do not see this tab, see Note below.
    The graphics driver version number will be listed below the graphics device. For example: 6.13.01.3004

How to check Windows* Device Manager (Windows* 95, 98, or Me):

  1. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
  2. Click the Device Manager tab.
  3. Double-click the Display adapters icon.
  4. Double-click the icon that appears directly below the Display adapters icon.
  5. Click the Driver tab.
  6. Click the Driver File Details button.
    The graphics driver version number will be listed as the File version. For example: 6.13.01.3004

How to check Windows Device Manager (Windows* 2000):

  1. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab.
  3. Click the Device Manager button.
  4. Double-click the Display adapters icon.
  5. Double-click the icon that appears directly below the Display adapters icon.
  6. Click the Driver tab.
  7. Click the Driver Details... button.
    The graphics driver version number will be listed as the File version. For example: 6.13.01.3004

How to check Windows Device Manager (Windows* XP):
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
  3. Click the Hardware tab.
  4. Click the Device Manager button.
  5. Double-click the Display adapters icon.
  6. Double-click the icon that appears directly below the Display adapters icon.
  7. Click the Driver tab.
  8. Click the Driver Details... button.
  9. The graphics driver version string, such as "6.13.01.3004", will be shown as the File version:.

Note: If you do not see an Intel® Graphics Technology tab or Intel® Extreme Graphics tab, you may have an out of date version or a customized version of the graphics drivers may be installed. Contact your computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer for the latest video drivers for your computer. Generic drivers are available on the Intel Download Center.
