Symptom(s):
You are unable to use the native resolution of some displays when running Intel chipset graphics. For example, resolutions like 1920x1080, 1680x1050, and 1440x900 are not available in graphics properties.
Cause:
The display Extended Display Information Data (EDID) does not read properly when connecting to a subset of Digital Flat Panel (DFP) displays.
Solution:
Intel released a graphics driver to specifically address this issue. But, there could be side effects to this solution like longer than normal resume times from standby. This solution only works with external displays like DFP displays connected to the VGA port of a computer. This driver is not designed to address issues with the laptop built-in display (Local Flat Panel) or with a TV connected to the system. This driver is supplied as is and Intel has not tested, nor guarantees, the operation of the driver for this purpose.
To resolve this issue on the Intel® 945G, 945GC, 945GT, and 945GV Express chipsets and the Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset family, select the driver for your operating system:
