Symptom(s):
When Halo Combat Evolved* game is started a warning message is displayed stating:
"We are sorry, but you computer's video hardware is below the recommended minimum spec for this game. If you wish to upgrade your computer, please contact your computer manufacturer for any necessary assistance."
Three choices are available in the game launcher.
Continue Anyway, Continue in Safe Mode, or Exit.
Once in the game, textures display, but have a reduced detail level.
Cause:
The game checks for the Vendor ID and Device ID of the graphics controller and displays this message if an unsupported graphics controller is found.
For full texture detail, the game requires a graphics adapter with hardware pixel shader support. This is not a supported hardware feature of these products.
Solution:
The game will play when selecting either Continue Anyway or Continue in Safe Mode as long as graphics settings for the game are left at default settings.
The level of texture detail displayed in this game is reduced due to the lack of pixel shader support in these graphics controllers.
