Symptom(s): Control Panel has an Intel Graphics Technology icon that you may not want.
Solution: In Windows* 95*, 98*, 98 Second Edition*, or Millennium Edition*, boot to Safe Mode, then navigate to the 'javascript:void(null);' folder, copy igfxcpl.cpl to igfxcpl.bak, then delete igfxcpl.cpl. Reboot to get out of Safe Mode. Open Control Panel to verify that the applet icon is gone.
In Windows NT* 4.0 or 2000, boot to Safe Mode or VGA mode, then navigate to the 'c:<system root>\system32' folder (e.g. 'javascript:void(null);'), copy igfxcpl.cpl to igfxcpl.bak, then delete igfxcpl.cpl. Reboot to get out of Safe Mode. Open Control Panel to verify that the applet icon is gone.
To suppress the installation of the Intel Graphics Technology Control Panel icon at driver installation time, simply extract the installation files, edit either i81xNT5.inf (Windows 2000), i81xNT4.inf (Windows NT 4.0), or i81x9x.inf (Windows 95, 98, 98 Second Edition, or Millennium Edition); under the heading entitled [CUI.Copy], place a semicolon (;) in front of the line igfxcpl.cpl to prevent this file from being copied during installation.
